Anmol

Counsellor

Hi, I am Anmol. I am working as a counsellor at SLCN with Brent and Lisa.

I have completed Master of Counselling from Monash University. Previously, I did Bachelor of Psychology with Honours in India. I worked as a tele-grief counsellor for more than a year, and as a school counsellor for 8 months during my degree at Monash. I have also worked as a mental health professional for an app providing chat-based counselling services for one year. I have experience counselling both adults and children.

I come from a joint family in India. My little brother was diagnosed with autism 14 years ago, so I understand first-hand what it is like dealing with kids with special needs. He was a speaking child until 4 years of age, and when he suddenly stopped talking, we decided to get him checked out. That was the first time me and my family heard about autism and began to understand what it meant for us and for my brother. Watching him grow, I realised the important role played by the therapists and the workers that helped him build a better life for him.

When I got the opportunity to work as an AHA at SLCN, I got excited as I love working with children with needs. I love watching them grow and develop new skills. I believe with proper support and the right environment, children with needs can flourish.

At SLCN, I work to address the specific needs of the children dealing with range of communication, behavioural, and mental health needs.

My aim would be to give individualised therapy to children and provide support to the families under the supervision and guidance of Brent.

In my spare time I love spending time with my husband, watching tv shows and playing badminton. I am also fond of playing board games. I look forward to getting to know you and your family.
